A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of a Nurse-Led Educational Programme on Knowledge and Self-Care Practices Regarding Hypertension among Patients Attending the Medical Outpatient Department of a Selected Hospital at Bagalkot
By Chetan Sangati and Swathi.
Abstract
Background
Hypertension is a common chronic cardiovascular condition and an important modifiable risk factor for stroke, coronary artery disease, heart failure, chronic kidney disease, and premature mortality. Because hypertension is frequently asymptomatic, patients may have limited awareness of the condition and may not consistently follow recommended treatment and self-care practices. Patient education delivered by nurses can strengthen understanding of the disease and support adherence to medication, dietary modification, physical activity, blood pressure monitoring, and prevention of complications.
