Abstract
Introduction
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) represents a global health problem with high morbidity and mortality, making early detection essential to prevent its progression. The estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) has been the primary marker for assessing renal function; however, albuminuria, measured by the urinary albumin/creatinine ratio (UACR), has proven to be a more sensitive predictor of early kidney damage.
