Abstract
Antenatal care (ANC) is an essential health service for monitoring the condition of both the mother and fetus during pregnancy and for the early detection of complications. However, some pregnant women are still not compliant with the recommended ANC visits, and one of the factors influencing this noncompliance is their perception of the importance of antenatal care. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between pregnant women's perceptions of antenatal care and adherence to the sixth ANC visit at Sumbersari Community Health Center, Lumajang Regency. This study employed a correlational research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample consisted of all women in the late third trimester of pregnancy at Sumbersari Community Health Center, Lumajang Regency, totaling 32 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were a questionnaire on pregnant women's perceptions of antenatal care and the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbook for ANC visit records. The research results indicated that among the 9 respondents with good perceptions, all were compliant with antenatal care (ANC) visits. Among the 7 respondents with moderate perceptions, 4 individuals (12.5%) were compliant and 3 individuals (9.4%) were non-compliant. Meanwhile, among the 16 respondents with poor perceptions, all were non-compliant with ANC visits. Overall, 13 respondents (40.6%) were compliant, and 19 respondents (59.4%) were non-compliant. Fisher Exact test yielded p = 0.000 with α = 0.05. Since p < α, H0 was rejected and H1 accepted, confirming a significant correlation between pregnant women's perceptions of antenatal care and adherence to the sixth ANC visit at Sumbersari Community Health Center, Lumajang Regency. Therefore, it can be concluded that the more positive pregnant women's perceptions of antenatal care are, the higher their adherence to completing the sixth ANC visit according to the recommended standards.
