Abstract
The community service activity entitled "Education on Red Guava Juice (JUMERAH) to Increase Hemoglobin (Hb) Levels in Pregnant Women with Anemia at Malawili Community Health Center, Sorong Regency" was conducted using educational, participatory, and empowering approaches, involving pregnant women with anemia, healthcare workers, and health volunteers. The activities included coordination and preparation, development of educational materials, participant registration, education on pregnancy-related anemia, hemoglobin (Hb) level testing, a demonstration of JUMERAH preparation, supervised consumption, knowledge evaluation, a satisfaction survey, and report compilation. Thirty pregnant women with anemia participated in the program. Evaluation results showed that the number of participants with "good" knowledge increased from 5 (16.7%) in the pre-test to 26 (86.7%) in the post-test, while the number in the "poor" category decreased from 10 (33.3%) to 0%. Mean Hb levels rose from 9.8 g/dL (SD 0.6; range 8.5–10.9) to 11.1 g/dL (SD 0.7; range 10.0–12.5), representing an average increase of 1.3 g/dL. Participant satisfaction was also high, with an average score of 36.2 out of 40 (90.5%), and 23 participants (76.7%) falling into the "very satisfied" category. Most outcome indicators were achieved.
