Therapeutic Potential of a Polyherbal Ethanolic Formulation in HFHF-STZ-Induced Metabolic Syndrome in Rats
By Vivek Patel.
Abstract
Background
Metabolic syndrome is a multifactorial metabolic disorder characterized by central obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidaemia, hypertension, and impaired glucose metabolism, which may contribute to dysfunction of vital organs. Plant-based combination therapies may provide a multi-target approach for managing associated metabolic abnormalities. Objective:To evaluate the combined ethanolic extract formulation of Anthocephalus indicus and Terminalia arjuna on metabolic, hepatic, and renal alterations in HFHF-STZ-induced metabolic syndrome in rats.
