To assess the knowledge regarding respectful maternity care among nurse midwives working in a selected tertiary care hospital and also to determine its association with the selected demographic variables.
The study used a quantitative approach along with a descriptive and cross-sectional design.

A total of 117 nurse midwives were selected using non-probability convenience sampling. Data were collected using a structured self-administered questionnaire consisting of demographic variables and 20 multiple-choice questions on respectful maternity care. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square testing were used for analysis, with p < 0.05 considered statistically significant.
Most participants had excellent knowledge regarding respectful maternity care (91%), while (6%) had moderately adequate knowledge and (3%) had inadequate knowledge. The mean knowledge score was 19.02 ± 2.59. No statistically significant association was found between knowledge level and any other demographic variables (p > 0.05).
