Abstract
Morocco faces significant health, social, and economic challenges—such as inequalities in access to care, regional disparities, and demographic pressures—that require the institution to adopt a more structured approach to social accountability. Against this backdrop, the Faculty of Medicine plays a central role in training physicians and addressing the population’s health needs.This policy brief advocates for the explicit integration of social accountability into faculty missions, in line with WHO recommendations and international standards. The objective is to strengthen health equity, enhance the relevance of medical education, and contribute to the region's sustainable development.This objective could be operationalised by creating a social innovation hub in public and community health, serving as an incubator for projects that address local and regional public health challenges and providing an innovative model for replication in other regions.The social responsibility mission would be implemented through:● Orienting research topics toward community health needs and challenges;● Training students and stakeholders in community health research;● Developing and implementing social innovations and interventions aimed at solving these issues through action research;● Creating partnership opportunities among stakeholders within the social responsibility framework (the five-partner model);● Advocating for the promotion of population health at both national and international levels. nbsp;
