Potencialidades e barreiras no acesso ao aborto legal no Estado de São Paulo: uma análise a partir de dados fornecidos pela Lei de Acesso à Informação
By Gabriela Cortez Campos and Taysa Schiocchet.
Abstract
This article analyzes the potentialities and barriers to access to legal abortion in the state of São Paulo based on data obtained through the Access to Information Law. The objective was to map access flows and identify obstacles and institutional referrals within the care network. Documentary research was conducted, involving 29 official requests to state public agencies and a qualitative analysis of the responses. The results reveal the concentration of services in the state capital, shortcomings in the dissemination of information, the absence of specific protocols for adolescents, and low integration among services. Potentialities were also identified, such as priority care and multidisciplinary teams. The findings indicate that, even in cases permitted by law, abortion is often treated in a veiled manner, hindering transparency and the effective realization of this right. The study concludes that there is a need to institutionalize clear referral pathways, decentralize services, and strengthen network coordination.
