Abstract
Introduction
Post-dural Puncture Headache (PDPH) is a frequent occurrence after spinal anaesthesia, especially in obstetric patients for caesarean section. It is described by the headache that aggravates with upright posture and is usually accompanied by photophobia, nausea, and stiff neck. It has marked effects on maternal recovery, neonatal care, and hospital stay. The design and size of the spinal needle are important predictors of PDPH, and thinner gauge needles with atraumatic bevels are perceived to minimise Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) leak and the risk of headache.
