Abstract
Background: Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous unit affecting over 80% of adolescents, often leading to significant social and psychological problems [3].Although conventional high-dose oral isotretinoin therapy is highly effective, it is limited by severe dose-dependent adverse effects [6, 10].Low-dose regimens are widely used as a safer alternative; however, their impact on skin microbiome dynamics remains incompletely understood. Objective:To comprehensively evaluate the quantitative and qualitative changes in the skin microbiome during low-dose isotretinoin therapy in patients with post-adolescent acne. Methods: This open-label, prospective, controlled clinical study was conducted over a period of three months involving 60 patients with moderate-to-severe post-adolescent acne.Participants were prescribed oral low-dose isotretinoin (0.25-0.4 mg/kg/day or a fixed daily dose of 10 mg) [2, 6, 14].Quantitative parameters of the skin surface and infundibular microbiota (specifically Cutibacterium acnes), sebum secretion rate, skin
