Investigating Technology-Assisted Balance Training for Improving Balance and Functional Mobility After Stroke: A Proposed Study
By Srishti Sisodiya.
Abstract
Stroke can cause persistent impairment of postural control, gait, weight shifting and functional mobility. Technology-assisted rehabilitation can provide repeated, task-specific practice with immediate visual, auditory or sensor-based feedback. This proposed study examines whether adding technology-assisted balance training to conventional physical therapy can improve balance and functional mobility after stroke and develops a structured research framework suitable for undergraduate-level investigation. The topic is connected with documented research from the Department of Physical Therapy at Cheju Halla University involving stroke-related balance, gait, sensory recovery and activities of daily living. The proposed study uses a sensor-based balance-training approach with real-time visual feedback and validated clinical measures in a controlled pre-post design. Because no original patient dataset has been collected for this paper, no fabricated participant results are presented.
