Abstract
Background
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) have emerged as key aspects of medical education as healthcare organizations seek to address inequities related to access, education, workforce, and health outcomes.
Methods
This narrative review examines the historical development, theoretical constructs, global frameworks, educational interventions, and institutional approaches related to DEI in medical education, with consideration of the Indian context.
