By Ghalia KHELLAF.
Abstract
Introduction
Postpartum acute kidney injury (PPAKI) remains a frequent complication in our country. The aim of our study was to evaluate the clinical profile, etiological circumstances, and outcomes of postpartum acute kidney injury. Patients and Methods: This was a retrospective, single-center study of all patients admitted to our department for extrarenal replacement therapy between January 2008 and December 2010 for postpartum acute kidney injury. We analyzed the clinical profile (age, blood pressure, diuresis, level of consciousness), obstetrical profile (parity, gestational age, type of delivery, neonatal status), etiological circumstances, complications, and outcomes. All patients with a history of preexisting renal disease were excluded from the study.
