Energy-based devices skin treatments: dermocosmetic peri-procedural protocols: a narrative review

Background

Energy-based devices (EBDs) in various forms specifically targeting the skin address a range of indications, with corresponding differences in anatomical target structures. For the energy delivered by these devices to achieve maximal efficacy with minimal side effects, it is necessary to complement the use of these technologies with appropriate specific peri-procedural dermocosmetic protocols. The aim of this review is to identify the proposed peri-procedural dermocosmetic protocols in skin-targeted EBD treatments.
