Abstract
Hypertension is one of the most prevalent non-communicable diseases and remains a major public health concern because it increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and kidney failure. This community service program aims to increase housewives’ knowledge and awareness of hypertension prevention through health education. The activity was conducted in a village in Lamongan Regency and involved 20 participants. The intervention included health education using leaflet media, interactive discussions, blood pressure screening, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test assessments. The pre-test results showed that 85% of participants had moderate knowledge and 15% had poor knowledge regarding hypertension. Following the intervention, the post-test results demonstrated an improvement, with 85% of participants achieving good knowledge and 15% remaining in the moderate category. Statistical analysis indicated a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.01). These findings suggest that health education combined with blood pressure screening is effective in improving community knowledge and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors for hypertension prevention.
