Abstract / Summary
General anesthetics act even on single-celled organisms and plants that lack receptors, causing a temporary suspension of life activities (anesthesia phenomenon). This phenomenon common to all life cannot be explained solely by the receptor theory of higher nervous systems (such as binding to GABA receptors). In this paper, based on the paradigm that considers biological systems not as “computers” calculating specific algorithms, but as “in vivo analog quantum synchronizers (phase synchronizers: Bio-QPU)” and “LUCA’s Theorem,” we reformulate the essence of anesthesia as “the destruction of intracellular quantum resonance systems and the collapse of selective decoherence (decoherence) due to a forced influx of phase noise from the outside”. While decoherence in artificial computational devices is treated as a mere calculation error, the collapse of decoherence in living organisms signifies the cessation of active information extraction and recording functions. Based on the “nuclear spin isotope effect” exhibited by the anesthetic action of the inert gas xenon (Xe), we propose a predictable model in which the state of anesthesia is a systemic isolated state where cells are physically disconnected from phase synchronization with the absolute time of the environment, and the process of selectively granulating only necessary dimensions to record and maintain waves in the single life wave function (life code: the drive recorder of life) is temporarily paused.
