Abstract / Summary
Tracheolator: From an Early Respiratory Innovation Concept in 2015 to a New Research Direction in 2026 This article presents the development journey of the Tracheolator, an early-stage respiratory-device concept originally developed and documented in 2015. The article describes the historical background of the concept, its academic and innovation journey during 2016–2018, and the motivation for revisiting the underlying research problem in 2026 in light of advances in biomedical engineering and medical-device technology. The 2026 direction is discussed at a high level as a potential research pathway for more responsive, integrated and patient-centered respiratory assistance. The article emphasizes the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration involving respiratory medicine, biomedical engineering, materials science, electronics, pharmacology, research methodology and regulatory expertise. The publication focuses on the research motivation, innovation journey and future research direction rather than presenting a clinically validated device. No claim of clinical efficacy, safety, regulatory approval, patentability or commercial readiness is made. Technical feasibility remains to be established through systematic engineering and scientific investigation. For intellectual-property considerations, detailed unpublished technical specifications and development information are intentionally excluded from this public article.
