Abstract / Summary
According to National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, U.S (NIAMS) “Rheumatic diseases are conditions that cause pain, stiffness, and swelling in joints and surrounding tissues, and may also affect internal organs in systemic forms.” 1 According to the World Health Organization, rheumatological diseases affect nearly 20–33% of the global population, making them one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. 2 In contemporary medicine, such conditions are commonly explained through mechanisms involving inflammation, autoimmunity, metabolic disturbances, and degenerative processes.
