Abstract
Background
Grangea maderaspatana (L.) Poir. (Asteraceae), traditionally used as a stomachic, sedative and carminative, has been pharmacologically studied for its oestrogenic, antifertility, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiarthritic, cytotoxic, antioxidant, hepatoprotective and antimicrobial activity, but its anxiolytic potential has not been systematically evaluated.
