Abstract / Summary
Abstract This study aimed to describe and explore maternal, conception, programme participation, delivery and newborn characteristics among 441 delivery records associated with the Tapovan Garbh Sanskar programme operated by Children’s Research University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The mean maternal age at delivery was 30.12 years (SD=3.30). A total of 334 records (75.7%) were associated with online classes and 107 (24.3%) with offline classes. Normal conception was recorded in 395 cases (89.6%), IVF in 30 (6.8%), IUI in 6 (1.4%), and other methods in 10 (2.3%).. Newborn health was recorded as Very Good in 310 cases (70.3%), Good in 128 (29.0%), and Weak in 3 (0.7%). The standardized record-level mean birth weight was approximately 2.92 kg (SD=0.48), with 53 records (12.0%) below 2.5 kg. Exploratory tests did not identify a statistically significant association between Tapovan class mode and delivery type. These findings should be interpreted as a description of the programme-associated dataset rather than evidence of programme effectiveness.
