Abstract
ABSTRACT Background: Maharishi Charaka has described Chittodvega, as one of the psychological afflictions that sprouts due to the vitiation of the Mansik Doṣhas: Rajah and Tamah [1]. As per similarity in aetiology & cardinal symptoms, Chittodvega may be clinically correlated with Generalized Anxiety Disorder/GAD, described in modern medicine. [2]. Sarpagandha Mishran (administered as an oral drug in both Group A & B) is one of the most preferred drug of choice for treating Chittodvega [3]. However, to effectively manage all symptoms and prevent a recurrence of the disease, this clinical study evaluates a comprehensive, 10-dimensional holistic healing module (administered in Group A) designed based on the 'Trividha Chikitsa' (threefold therapy) described in Ayurveda [4].
