Abstract / Summary
This note was prompted by the high jump finalist competition at the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, which I was just watching. It triggered a breakthrough in a long-standing critical awareness of mine, while also recalling the operational shortcomings that became increasingly apparent during the 23rd World Cup in North America. It unifies four specific proposals—which measure and utilize the actual performance of athletes in the long jump, high jump, soccer, and throwing events instead of relying on outdated measurement devices and operational constraints—into a single overarching hypothesis. English and Korean versions are available here.
