Bioengineering of the female reproductive system and its future
By Lily Stephen.
Abstract
Modern changes in childbirth and infant feeding practices may influence maternal and child health. Increasing use of labor-inducing medications, cesarean delivery, formula feeding, and medications to suppress lactation has raised concerns regarding their potential effects on natural physiological processes. Natural childbirth and breastfeeding support important maternal and infant functions, including hormonal regulation, immunity, and metabolic health. This article highlights the importance of balanced and evidence-based approaches to childbirth and infant nutrition while emphasizing the appropriate use of medical interventions when clinically necessary. Greater awareness of maternal and child health may help promote healthier outcomes for future generations.
