Association of Body Mass Index and Hormone Levels among Women with Infertility Presenting to a Specialty Reproductive Care Center
By Nisha Pragati Shree, Uma Maheshwari, Asha Srinivasan Vijay and 2 others.
Abstract
Studies have also demonstrated associations between obesity and subtle alterations in thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels.Excess adiposity has been correlated with mildly elevated TSH concentrations.16 Excess weight is also linked to decreased FSH secretion in females, as elevated estrogen production inhibits pituitary FSH release, potentially impacting menstrual health and fertility.
