Exploring the Relation between Rate Pressure Product and Ankle Brachial Pressure Index in Sickle Cell Patients: A Cross-Sectional Analysis

A BSTRACT Background: Cardiovascular complications are a leading cause of death in sickle cell patients. The Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) and Rate Pressure Product (RPP) are simple, noninvasive tools for assessing cardiovascular risk. However, their correlation has not been studied yet. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between ABPI and RPP in individuals with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and Sickle Cell Trait (SCT) to improve risk stratification in this vulnerable group.
