Abstract
A BSTRACT Antenatal care (ANC) plays a vital role in improving pregnancy outcomes by facilitating early detection and management of complications. This case report highlights the pivotal role of the Family Adoption Programme (FAP) and student-led counselling in ensuring a safe delivery outcome for a 28-years woman from a rural village. A G 2 P 2 L 1 A 0 woman with a planned second pregnancy was closely monitored under FAP. Regular antenatal check-ups and follow-ups, including USG, enabled early detection of a critical condition—nuchal cord—at 8 months gestation. Under FAP, the student provided continuous counselling, resolved family concerns, and ensured birth preparedness. The woman delivered a healthy male baby via normal vaginal delivery, with nuchal cord managed safely. This case emphasizes how student involvement enhances antenatal care, ensures early risk detection, and strengthens family healthcare communication. It underlines the importance of community-based medical education in improving maternal and neonatal outcomes in rural settings.
