Abstract
Background
Thoracic segmental spinal (TSS) anaesthesia with a low dose of local anaesthetic (LA) drug is sufficient to provide a definite block of the required dermatomes essential for breast oncological surgery. This randomised study aims to assess the effect of changing the baricity of 0.5% levobupivacaine (isobaric and hyperbaric) given in the ipsilateral position on the quality and recovery profile of thoracic spinal anaesthesia in breast cancer surgery.
