Abstract
Hypertensionis a noncommunicable disease that poses a global health problem and often goes unrecognized by those affected. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the prevalence of hypertension among individuals 30–80 years of age. This study employed a descriptive design with a cross- sectional approach. The study population consisted of 116 individuals, with a sample size of 46 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and blood pressure measurements, then analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant association between age (p=0.001), fat intake (p=0.013), and family history (p=0.003) and the prevalence of hypertension, whereas physical activity (p=0.622), (p=0.834), smoking status (p=0.949), and salt intake (p=0.136) were not associated with the incidence of hypertension. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that individuals aged 30–80 years with hypertension have a statistically and theoretically significant association with the factors of age, fat intake, and family history
