Abstract / Summary
Rolling acne scars are characterized by dermal tethering and are traditionally treated with subcision. This case series evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of laser-induced acoustic shockwave treatment utilizing a diamond particle patch, a novel, non-invasive, and non-thermal tissue remodeling method.Three patients with rolling acne scars underwent treatment using these patches, activated by a Q-switched 1,064-nm Nd:YAG laser (5-mm spot size, 2.0-4.0J/cm 2 fluence, and 5 Hz repetition rate). After one or two sessions, all patients demonstrated visible improvements in scar depth and overall skin texture, and reported high satisfaction.Adverse effects were strictly limited to transient erythema and edema that resolved within 24 hours. No serious complications, such as pigmentary alterations or prolonged erythema, were observed.Ultimately, this diamond particle patch-mediated acoustic shockwave treatment may be a feasible non-invasive option for rolling acne scars.
