Abstract / Summary
Pigmented eccrine poroma is an uncommon variant of a benign adnexal tumor that may clinically mimic malignant melanocytic lesions, particularly when occurring at non-acral sites. We report a case of a 27-year-old male presenting with a longstanding pigmented nodule on the posterior shoulder, clinically suspicious for nodular melanoma. Excision biopsy revealed a well-circumscribed epithelial tumor composed of poroid cells with characteristic ductal differentiation and scattered dendritic melanocytes, confirming a diagnosis of pigmented eccrine poroma. This case highlights the diagnostic challenge posed by atypical presentations of adnexal tumors and emphasizes the importance of histopathological evaluation in distinguishing benign lesions from malignancy.
