Abstract
Gestational weight gain is an important indicator of maternal and fetal health. Inadequate physical activity may lead to inappropriate gestational weight gain. This study aimed to determine the relationship between physical activity and gestational weight gain among third-trimester pregnant women at PMB Sofiatun Mojosongo. This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design involving 30 third-trimester pregnant women selected through purposive sampling. Physical activity was assessed using the IPAQ-SF, while gestational weight gain was measured using an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed a significant relationship between physical activity and gestational weight gain. Pregnant women with better physical activity tended to achieve gestational weight gain within the recommended range. In conclusion, physical activity is associated with gestational weight gain among third-trimester pregnant women. Appropriate physical activity is recommended to help maintain healthy gestational weight gain. Keywords: physical activity, gestational weight gain, third-trimester pregnant women.
