Abstract
Physical exercise is an activity that plays a vital role in maintaining physical health while also supporting mental health and quality of life. Regular physical activity can provide psychological benefits, such as helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression, as well as improving psychological well-being. In addition, physical exercise can also improve physical fitness, bodily functions, the ability to perform daily activities, and life satisfaction. This article aims to analyze the effects of regular physical exercise on mental health and quality of life based on published research findings and scientific reviews. The method used is a literature review, examining various studies and systematic reviews on physical activity, mental health, psychological well-being, and quality of life. The results of the review indicate that physical activity generally has a positive association with mental health and quality of life. Physical activity during leisure time, transportation, and household chores was found to be associated with mental health, although the strength of the association varies depending on the type of activity and individual characteristics. Physical exercise can also provide benefits through improved fitness, self-confidence, social support, and psychological well-being. Thus, regular physical exercise can be an important part of maintaining mental health and improving quality of life.
