Abstract
Background: The Pediatric Health Science Program at Udayana University/Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital aims to provide high-quality specialist education. Changes in program management and curriculum since 2020 are expected to impact timely graduation and burnout among residents. Objective: To assess the role of study program management and curriculum modifications in supporting timely graduation and reducing burnout among residents from the 2017-2019 and 2020-2023 cohorts. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 50 randomly selected residents (25 from each cohort). Burnout was measured using the CBI-S instrument, while OSCE scores, MCQ scores, and timely graduation rates were collected retrospectively. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: A significant difference was found in timely graduation between the 2017-2019 and 2020-2023 cohorts (p < 0.001). However, no significant differences were observed in OSCE scores (p = 1.000), MCQ scores (p = 1.000), or burnout levels (p = 0.600).Conclusion: Curriculum modifications and improved management positively influenced timely graduation but did not significantly impact OSCE scores, MCQ scores, or burnout. While program adjustments enhance graduation rates, they do not necessarily improve exam performance or reduce burnout.
