EXPRESSION OF CONCERN: V. Poulaki, E. Iliaki, N. Mitsiades, C. S. Mitsiades, Y. N. Paulus, D. V. Bula, E. S. Gragoudas, and J. W. Miller, “ Inhibition of Hsp90 Attenuates Inflammation in Endotoxin-Induced Uveitis,” The FASEB Journal 21, no. 9 (2007): 2113–2123, https://doi.org/10.1096/fj.06-7637com. This Expression of Concern is for the above article, published online on 30 March 2007 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), and has been issued by agreement between the journal Editor-in-Chief, Loren E. Wold; the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB); and Wiley Periodicals LLC. A third party raised concerns regarding partial duplications between Figure 1B and Figure 9, and the duplication between the Actin immunoblot panel in Figure 8B and the Actin immunoblot panel in Figure 9. Further investigation by the journal and the publisher found that bands presented in Figures 1, 6, 7, 8, and 9 showed evidence of splicing. The authors responded to an inquiry by the publisher and stated that the experimental conditions described in Figures 8B and 9 are identical, and that therefore sharing the same Actin immunoblot would have been acceptable. However, the original data are no longer available due to the time that has elapsed since publication. Therefore, the concerns of potential data duplication cannot be resolved. The Expression of Concern has been published in order to inform and alert readers to these concerns. The authors were informed of the Expression of Concern.
