Non-English Preferred Language and Hospital Mortality in Candidemia: A Retrospective Cohort Study
By Hamail Iqbal, Ahmet Dalkilic, Dejan Nikolić and 1 others.
Abstract
Abstract We evaluated associations between social determinants of health and mortality in candidemia via a retrospective cohort (2017–2022). Among 237 episodes, non-English language was independently associated with higher mortality (aOR 3.22, 95% CI 1.03–10.08). Other social determinants were not significant. Non-English preferred language may identify an important difference in candidemia outcomes which warrants further investigation and validation in larger, multicenter studies.
