Abstract
Women experience nephrotoxicity at higher rates compared to men when treated with platinum-based chemotherapy, but the reasons remain poorly understood.1-2 There is heterogeneity in methods of estimating glomerular filtration rate (eGFR); Cockcroft-Gault estimate of clearance of creatinine (CG-ClCr) is commonly used in the United States.3 The CG-ClCr equation was derived in 1976 in a cohort of 249 white males who were close to ideal body weight, and the equation includes terms for age, creatinine, and weight.
