Abstract
Purpose
This study investigated microsphere distribution at the first hepatic artery bifurcation during transarterial radioembolization (TARE). A combined Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Design of Experiments (DoE) methodology was developed to analyze the effect of geometric and procedural parameters, and to derive algebraic surrogate models to analyze catheter-position effects on microsphere distribution in idealized patients.
