By Anjali Saini, Devesh Kumar, Mohit Agrawal and 5 others.
Abstract
Background
Neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Huntington’s disease (HD), and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) are progressive disorders characterized by neuronal loss, oxidative stress, inflammation, and protein aggregation. Current therapies provide only symptomatic relief, highlighting the need for multi-target therapeutic agents. Cubebin, a bioactive lignan isolated from Piper cubeba, has gained attention due to its diverse pharmacological activities.
Objective
This review aims to summarize the traditional medicinal importance, pharmacological properties, and therapeutic potential of cubebin in the management of major neurodegenerative disorders.
