Accelerometer-based activity sensing by an insertable cardiac monitor in ambulatory patients: a sub-analysis of the LUX-Dx TRENDS study
By Andrew J. Sauer, E. Matthew Quin, Karan Bhalla and 11 others.
Abstract
Accelerometer-based motion detection is a common feature of cardiovascular implanted electronic devices (CIED) such as pacemakers and defibrillators (ICDs) and has been previously used to monitor patient activity1 and inform rate adaptive pacing2. Continuous activity monitoring may also be useful for ambulatory patients who do not meet the indications for a pacemaker or ICD.
