Abstract
Background
Liver cirrhosis frequently results in vitamin D insufficiency and may worsen morbidity and mortality. Cholecalciferol supports bone health, immunity, and metabolism, and its deficiency is linked to poorer outcomes in persistent liver disease. However, It is still unclear how it relates to infection and the degree of illness in people with cirrhosis. In this investigation, blood 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels in patients with liver cirrhosis were measured, and MELD-Na and Child-Pugh scores were used to correlate the levels with the severity of the disease.
