Abstract
Objective
The objective of this study was to compare the hand hygiene knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of chiropractic students from a graduating class before (pre-COVID-19) and after the COVID-19 pandemic (post-COVID-19) using the World Health Organization (WHO)'s standardized questionnaires.
Methods
The questionnaire was distributed to participating pre-COVID-19 (n = 55) and post-COVID-19 (n = 51) cohorts of chiropractic interns doing their clinical training at an academic institution in South Africa (May 2019 and August 2023). Frequencies, descriptive statistics, and cross-tabulations were used to describe the outcome of analysis and P = < .05 was considered the level of significance.
