Abstract
Lung cancer as a malignant neoplastic disease remains a major public health problem today, with smoking as the main risk factor, as it behaves like an addictive, chronic, and recurrent disease. This article reviews the latest trends in diagnosis and treatment based on the most relevant changes and the importance of molecular genetic findings for a better clinical and therapeutic approach from the perspective of precision medicine. A literature review was conducted focusing on studies published between 2010 and 2024 in the PubMed Central database to compile the latest research on lung cancer. Original publications, including clinical trials, literature reviews, and review articles, were included. Studies were selected based on their relevance to lung cancer; studies that found/theorized new discoveries or built on previous evidence with new trials/research. It can therefore be concluded that these discoveries contribute significantly to improving the prognosis of patients with this disease, which has a poor prognosis.
