Background

Globally and nationally, infant mortality occurs predominantly during the neonatal period. WHO reported that in 2024, there were 4.9 million deaths among children under five years of age, with 2.3 million occurring during the neonatal period. Breast milk is the best food for infants because it contains nutrients and antibodies. In the working area of Pandak I Public Health Center, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in 2025 was 81.40% among infants aged 0–5 months, but decreased to 60.09% at 6 months of age. Improper breastfeeding techniques may hinder the breastfeeding process; therefore, mothers’ knowledge of breastfeeding techniques is one of the factors that supports the success of exclusive breastfeeding.
