Abstract
Urethral stricture is a common complication of hypospadias repair. Several studies have documented this postoperative complication. Over the years, advancements in surgical techniques and approaches have been made to reduce the occurrence of such complications and improve the outcomes of hypospadias repair. However, when urethral stricture develops, management options range from simple urethral dilation to substitution urethroplasty. Surgical urethral reconstruction may be performed as a one-stage or multi-staged procedure. Presented here is a 40-year-old male, treated as a case of penoscrotal hypospadias who underwent hypospadias repair using scrotal graft who presented with a 20-year history of decrease in caliber of urine and dysuria. Patient underwent Kulkarni one-sided anterior dorsal onlay buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty with unremarkable postoperative course.
