Abstract
Pityriasis lichenoides chronica (PLC) is an uncommon, benign inflammatory skin disease characterized by recurrent crops of small lesions with adherent scale, particularly in children and young adults. Its cause is unknown, but it may result from an abnormal immune response to infections, vaccines, medications, or T-cell abnormalities. The diagnosis may be confused with other skin diseases; therefore, histopathologic studies are helpful. There is no standard treatment; topical corticosteroids and phototherapy are commonly used. Although the disease usually resolves over time, dermatologic follow-up is recommended to monitor for potential recurrence or atypical progression.
