This is a protocol for a Cochrane review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the benefits and harms of a treat-to-target (goal-directed) strategy versus a no-target strategy for lipid-lowering therapy in the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease in adults with dyslipidaemia.
