Résumé
Objective
To evaluate the cross-sectional area and thickness of the pectoralis major muscle using chest CT and to investigate their associations with nutritional, respiratory, and functional parameters in children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis (CF).
Methods
This was a cross-sectional study including patients 6-18 years of age with a confirmed diagnosis of CF. Anthropometric data were collected, as were data related to lung function and muscle strength assessed by dynamometry, as well as pectoralis muscle area and thickness measured by chest CT. Aerobic fitness was assessed with cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
