Résumé
Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a clinical and radiological entity with seizures, headache, visual disturbances and vasogenic oedema. The study therefore aimed to describe the clinical course, diagnosis and management of a postpartum patient with eclampsia, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome and super-refractory status epilepticus. A case report based on the clinical record was used, involving a 17-year-old postpartum patient with tonic-clonic seizures 12 hours after vaginal delivery, HELLP syndrome and acute kidney injury. Status epilepticus required levetiracetam, valproate, midazolam and barbiturate coma; magnetic resonance showed frontal, parietal and occipital cortico-subcortical hyperintensities; and she recovered with a modified Rankin score of 2 at discharge. It was concluded that early diagnosis preserves the reversibility of the syndrome.
