Résumé
Obstetric violence is an emerging public health problem linked to the medicalisation of childbirth and to practices that violate women’s rights. The study therefore aimed to analyse the scientific evidence on obstetric violence during labour and its psychological and clinical implications for maternal and child health. A systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA 2020 in PubMed, Scopus, SciELO, Web of Science and CINAHL, with a sample of 12 studies published between 2019 and 2024. Obstetric violence was expressed through non-consented interventions, dehumanised treatment and restricted autonomy, and was associated with postpartum depression, post-traumatic stress and disruption of the mother-infant bond. It was concluded that respectful maternity care and continuity models led by nursing and midwifery professionals should be strengthened.
