Résumé
Leishmaniasis is a significant public health issue in Brazil. In the municipality of Pains, in the state of Minas Gerais, 24 autochthonous cases of American cutaneous leishmaniasis and five cases of visceral leishmaniasis were recorded between 2002 and 2022. To address the challenge of providing high-quality information, the educational programme Café com Leish was created, aiming to share knowledge in an engaging and accessible way. The initiative included awareness and training sessions for community and health workers. Through a participatory process, the games LeishMemória and AventalLeish, an information booklet, a prototype of the city with data about the disease, and 14 educational videos were developed. The videos were spread on the Instagram account of the municipality of Pains and on the Fiocruz Minas YouTube channel. It is hoped that these measures will help to strengthen local surveillance and encourage preventive behaviors in the fight against leishmaniasis.
